With the central module ControlCenter-Compact,

you can operate a larger number of computers from a greater number of workplaces. KVM matrix systems assist you in managing complex IT infrastructures in a simple and intuitive way. Especially in mission-critical environments such as control rooms, military command centers, data centers, or facilities for managing critical infrastructures, users benefit from this secure, reliable, and flexible solution for decentralized operation and administration. The ControlCenter-Compact is available in numerous variants. The product range includes CAT-based models with 8 to 176 ports, fiber variants with 16 to 48 ports, as well as hybrid variants with 32 to 112 ports that combine CAT and fiber ports. Thanks to Dynamic Port Technology, you can flexibly configure the ports as input or output for connecting computer modules, RemoteAccess-CPUs, console modules, or DynamicWorkplace-CONs.

Transmission
  • The transmission distance is up to 400 meters over fiber multimode optics, incl. transmission module(s)/SFP transceiver(s)
  • The transmission distance is up to 140 meters over CAT
Device
  • Improved security through physical separation between workplaces and computers
  • Access to standard interfaces of the computer, with no software installation required

  • Users can switch between different sources almost in real-time, without noticing interruptions or delays
  • Dynamic ports are flexible and automatically detect whether a computer module, RemoteAccess-CPU, console module, or DynamicWorkplace-CON is connected
  • System components can be connected or removed during operation (hot-plug capable)
Signals
  • Channel grouping: In addition to combining multiple computers to a console, the central module also supports multi-monitor workplaces for computers with several video outputs. Here, multiple channels can easily be combined as channel groups.

As always, you can administrate all functions in the central module web interface. In addition to multiple screens, you can include other signals in these groups. The system also transmits and switches transparent USB2.0 signals as well
    as RS232.

  • USB pinning: If multiple ports are grouped as multi-channel configuration, the USB pinning function enables you to hold the USB transmission on the current computer even when switching to another channel. In this case the USB transmission is not interruped but transmitted to the end.
Security features
  • boot loader, operating system and firmware  form a trusted computing platform to protect the system against third-party manipulations
  • integrated Trusted Platform Module (TPM) protects any access and configuration data against exposure with  RSA encryption process
  • failover connection (if the central module fails, you can establish a direct connection between user module and computer module and still operate the system)
  • redundant internal power packs
  • Redundant network interface
  • With the Monitoring function, you can auto-output device status messages to Syslog servers or SNMP. The web interface lets you monitor the device manually.
  • support of external authentication via LDAP, Active Directory, TACACS+, Radius
  • access protection and user management can be switched off
  • Auto-Backup-Funktion: This function automates the backup procedure, following the functions of manual backups but with the added convenience of automatic execution at user-configurable intervals. By eliminating the need for manual intervention, users can ensure consistent and timely backups without the need for continuous monitoring.
  • The configurable exclusive access to USB, audio and RS232 guarantees that access is restricted solely to workplace modules capable of utilizing these signals, and only to users with authorization. Therefore, organizations can ensure heightened security and control over signal access within their operational environment.

Operation features
  • auto-recognition and display of the system structure
  • configuration over web interface
  • central update of all components over network
  • support of AMX Crestron control
  • Wake On LAN Function: In scenarios where a computer is in sleep mode, our function allows for remote awakening, provided that the target system supports this functionality. This capability enables administrators to remotely access systems without the necessity for physical intervention or manual wake-up procedures. Furthermore, our solution offers the option to configure an additional layer of security through the implementation of an optional password.
  • FreeSeating: This exclusive feature is available as part of the TradeSwitch function. FreeSeating optimizes user experiences within the matrix system by allowing an individual TradeSwitch configuration at each console module. This innovative capability empowers users to seamlessly restore their personalized workplace environment, including recently connected sources, with a streamlined login process at any user console. By facilitating swift access to their preferred setup, FreeSeating optimizes workflow efficiency and enhances productivity across diverse operational environments.
  • With just one XML command, users can easily sever connections between consoles and specific CPU modules. This feature simplifies system maintenance and troubleshooting, providing operators and administrators with greater control over their infrastructure.

Security features
  • MatrixGuard Function – A premium software feature for ensuring continuous operation against unforeseen disruptions.
    • requires the premium software feature Matrix-Grid Function
    • Redundancy concept with failover functionality: In the event of unforeseen disruptions, console modules and computer modules within the Matrix-Grid network automatically connect to an alternative matrix switch - except for endpoint devices connected to the unavailable matrix switch
    • restoration of switching states enables rapid resumption of operations
  • The 2-factor authentication (2FA) in KVM systems provides a higher standard of safety and assures that only authorized users can access the system. This involves the use of a Time-Based-One-Time-Password (TOTP) which is a password valid for a limited time and can be applied only once. Authenticator apps or hardware tokens can be used. Likewise, you can freely select whether you want to employ the internal authentication server provided in the device or an external directory service.
Operation features
  • TS function – software feature expansion for multi-monitor consoles:
As a part of the expansion module "TS function", CrossDisplay-Switching enables users to switch between channels simply by moving the mouse. The mouse acts as if on a “virtual desktop” and can be moved seamlessly across the connected displays. Moving the cursor from the active to another display, the keyboard-mouse focus automatically switches to the connected computer. This feature lets you create multi-monitor workplaces, where users do not have to deal with the actual infrastructure. Thus, they are able to perform their tasks while operating the system intuitively. The mouse becomes the ultimate intuitive switching tool.
  • Push-Get-Function - A software feature for moving/getting own or external screen contents: Push-Get-Function optimizes collaboration in the control room and allows the user to push the image on his monitor to the display of another workstation or a large-screen projection or to get it from there. This solution also improves the communication, flexibility and productivity within the team, since employees can now perform tasks together.

Control options
  • IP-Control-API – software feature for preparing the switching over network:
With the IP-Control-API function, you can send switching commands to the central module. The commands are sent via network. The system is operated independently from user modules. Independent from any location, each computer can access the desired projection media and/or operator screens. With IP-Switching, you can also:
    • receive information about current switching conditions
    • cancel all switching conditions (Disconnect)
    • receive information about the computer statuses
    • execute the Push-Get function via network
  • Scenario switching to simplify the operation of matrix systems: Scenario switching requires the additional software feature IP-Control-API. Scenario switching lets you store the switching condition of one or multiple workplaces or even of the entire system. The selected switching states are saved in a script in the matrix system and can be accessed and executed via the OSD of workplaces assigned with the required rights.
System expansion
  • Support for all common video signals, thanks to a wide selection of matrix-compatible KVM extenders, which can be integrated as end devices in matrix operation in a “mixed” configuration (Mix & Match). Video transmission is performed using bluedec™ – G&D’s advanced, multi-stage, lossless compression – delivering pixel-perfect, lossless video quality with near-zero latency.
  • The RemoteAccess-CPU lets you seamlessly integrate virtual machines into your matrix installation. This way, hybrid systems with real and virtual computer infrastructure can be optimally implemented.
  • Matrix-Grid Function – A premium software feature for expanding the matrix system or increasing the number of ports by adding additional central modules:
    • multiple digital matrix switches from the ControlCenter-Compact and ControlCenter-Digital series can be combined into a large matrix network
    • enables bidirectional communication between console and computer modules connected to different matrix switches
    • can be combined with the MatrixGuard Function
  • Increase the system's range up to 10,000 m by using CAT variants/connections by integrating an optical fibres line (DVI-FiberLink)
  • Increase the system's range up to 140 m by using CAT variants/connections by integrating a CAT line (CAT-Repeater)
