The term bluedec™ is made up of the words blue - a reference to our corporate color - and codec and refers to a multi-stage compression logic. This ensures that even compressed data is transmitted loss-free and pixel-perfect.
The codec behind this logic works across frames. This means that the codec not only looks at a single frame, but also compares several images in order to avoid losses. For this reason, even lower bandwidths of 3Gbit/s, 1Gbit/s or even less are sufficient to transmit video data reliably and without latency.
The approach of pixel-perfect video compression is particularly suitable for control room applications. This is because security aspects often play an important role here. Pixel-perfect video transmission guarantees that employees see exactly the same information on their workstation monitors as is displayed on the remote computer. This is a very important criterion, especially in mission-critical environments such as air traffic control.
We like to keep the reins in our own hands when developing our devices. As a manufacturer, this allows us to react much faster and more flexibly to current developments. We see being able to (further) develop our own compression process as one of our core competencies.
