enables flexible use of every matrix switch port within the matrix grid for console modules, computer modules, or grid lines. The matrix grid allows for the universal expansion of an existing KVM system and facilitates bidirectional communication between console and computer modules connected to different matrix switches. This makes it possible to combine multiple digital matrix switches from the ControlCenter-Compact and ControlCenter-Digital series into a single large matrix network. Console and computer modules can be connected to any matrix switch within the grid. For the user, the matrices combined in a grid appear virtually as one large matrix system, allowing access from any workstation to all sources within the system. The matrix system automatically handles KVM signal routing by selecting the optimal path through the grid. Communication between matrix switches takes place over a network that provides access to a shared database. A matrix grid can contain up to 24 systems, supporting various topologies (e.g., line, tree, ring, star, or mesh). Redundancy concepts enable high-availability installations.
