The 2-factor authentication (2FA) in KVM systems provides a higher standard of safety and assures that only authorized users can access the system. As a result, sensitive data can be protected, and the risk of cyber-attacks is minimized.
The default user authentication in KVM systems uses a password query. In complex matrix installations, the configuration interface ConfigPanel enables the central administration of user accounts and their authorizations. To increase security, a second, owner-based factor can be requested through the optional 2FA. This involves the use of a Time-Based-One-Time-Password (TOTP) which is a password valid for a limited time and can be applied only once. After the 2FA has been successfully activated in the user account, the TOTP is requested during login in addition to entering the username and password. Authenticator apps or hardware tokens can be used.
The best way to talk about complex topics is in person. Via chat, e-mail, phone or in a personal demo remote or on-site.
